Flower baskets set to bloom in Quincy

Organizers report that the picturesque charm of Quincy is set to bloom once again as the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and Plumas Arts, in collaboration with dedicated volunteers, embark on their annual mission to adorn the town’s streets with flower baskets. They’re calling for community support to ensure the success of the season.

With a goal of $10,000, the organizations aim to procure and maintain 69 flower baskets for display from downtown Quincy through East Quincy. Tax-deductible donations can be made to Plumas Arts via mail at P.O. Box 600, Quincy, CA 95971, or in person at Plumas Arts or The Toy Store. Debit or credit card payments are also accepted at Plumas Arts. Donations are also accepted via QR codes found on flyers around town or on the Quincy Chamber of Commerce website at http://www.quincychamber.com/flower-baskets.

Organizers welcome all donations, regardless of size. Sponsors contributing $300 or more will receive recognition with a personalized plaque beneath one of the flower baskets. Organizers say this option has been used by both individuals and businesses to serve as a tribute to loved ones, local enterprises and cherished memories.

Funds raised will cover not only the cost of the flowers and soil, but also logistics such as transportation from Country Gardens in Standish to Quincy in mid-May, and the return trip in mid-October. Additionally, the initiative supports the employment of one part-time seasonal worker.

Community involvement lies at the heart of initiatives like these, and the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and Plumas Arts extend their gratitude to all past donors and volunteers. Together, they aim to preserve and enhance the beauty of Quincy for residents and visitors alike.
