The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the disappearance of Anthony Evans, 35, who was reported missing Sunday, Dec. 17, in the Portola area. Despite periods of inclement winter weather and the time elapsed, search efforts for Evans are ongoing.
Searchers, including K-9s, have been deployed to cover a variety of terrain in hopes of locating him. Officials have remained in regular contact with Evans’s family and all investigative leads are being thoroughly explored. Search operations are being carried out as conditions and resources permit.
Evans’s vehicle was located near a family member’s residence roughly 5 miles west of the City of Portola. As of Friday, Dec. 22, the incident is being investigated as a voluntary missing adult.
The PCSO is looking for help from the public. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Evans is asked to get in touch with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 283-6300. The information could be vital.
