Plumas County Sheriff’s Office responds to juvenile ingesting LSD

The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Jan. 15 reporting an incident involving a 7-year-old who had ingested LSD. Deputies promptly responded to the call and initiated a thorough investigation.

Upon examination, it was determined that the substance was illegally possessed by the father, Michael Ontiveros, 38, of Greenville. The LSD had been stored in a manner that allowed access by the juvenile. The child was quickly transported to a nearby medical center and is reportedly in good
health as of Jan. 19.

Efforts to locate Ontiveros were undertaken but have thus far yielded negative results. Sheriff’s officials compiled all pertinent information and submitted comprehensive reports to the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office for review. On Jan. 18, Plumas County District Attorney David Hollister filed a one-count complaint against Ontiveros alleging he committed the crime of felony child abuse. A formal warrant was issued for Ontiveros’ arrest.
