Paul Wayne Hackney, of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Morenci, Arizona, the son of the late Paul Willis and Gertrude Poteet Hackney. Mr. Hackney died at his home on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at the age of 82.
He was a member of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church, a retired logger, and a United States Marine. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dale Hackney.
Survivors are his wife and caregiver of 44 years JoAnn Evich Hackney of Sheridan, Arkansas; son Paul Hackney (Wanda) of Grapevine, Arkansas; daughters August Hackney (Jace Hendrix) of Red Bluff, California, Rachel Hackney of Sheridan, Arkansas; mother-in-law Carol Sands of Uma, Arizona; brother-in-law Joseph Evich of Uma, Arizona; sister Martha Ann Stone of Spokane Valley, Washington; grandchildren Paul, Joey, Caleb, Jace; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Marlow Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in the Ico Community.
