Peace Rally on Tax Day held in Quincy

On the late afternoon of April 15, organizers report that a group of 20-plus Plumas County residents gathered at Dame Shirley Plaza in Quincy for a Peace Rally on Tax Day. Participants displayed pro-Palestinian and antiwar signs.

Organizers said the group rallied around this message, which they shared with The Plumas Sun: “The Peace Rally on Tax Day was an organic organizing of Plumas County residents who are against U.S. imperialism and tax dollars going to fund violence, including the brutal assault of the Palestinian people by the U.S.-backed Israeli government. We gather to raise awareness about ongoing colonization by Western countries, including our own, funded by tax dollars and our labor. The Peace Rally on Tax Day honors global peasant movements, community, and alternatives to exploitation.”
